Workshop 1 Craft Room Belfast Book Festival

The Sanctuary Tree

Throughout the Festival

Throughout the Festival The Sanctuary Tree comes into leaf as you are invited to tie your hopes, prayers, and pleas to its branches.

A special site, messages hung on a tree − suspended between earth and heaven – this has long been a way for people to publicly express their deepest longings.

Angela Graham and the five poets who have worked to create the Sanctuary collection, invite you to join them on Saturday 18 June as they share their poetic understanding of the many facets of Sanctuary, and explore what leaves the tree has gained. They will also launch the poetry pamphlet There Must be Somewhere. Click here for more information.
