They are among us. They write novels and poems and plays, published or still unpublished, both in English and in their own language and sometimes even in their local dialect. They’re the Italian writers and aspiring writers of Northern Ireland and they’re very much looking forward to meeting you through a discussion mediated by Dr. Federica Ferrieri (Honorary Italian Consul) and Dr. Tess Maginess (Queen's University Belfast).
Is Northern Ireland a muse for Italian writers?
Is there any Italianness left in their work?
You’ll be able to ask them yourselves - there will be time for a Q&A session with the audience. Excerpts from the work of the Italian writers will be available at the event.
Dr. Ferrieri is a lecturer in Italian Language and Culture at Queen's University’s Open Learning Programme and The Crescent and Dr. Maginess is a lecturer in literature and Co-Director of the Open learning Programme, Queen's University.
