Shane Koyczan

Internationally celebrated Canadian spoken word poet Shane Koyczan is bringing his exciting performance to Belfast for the first time ever and we are delighted to welcome him the Festival.

Navigating social and political territory with furious energy and a tender humanity in high gear rhythmic verse, Shane is someone not to be missed.

Turning his hand to more than spoken word, Shane has written a verse novel, a graphic novel, libretti and many songs.

His first collection, Visiting Hours, won Best Book of the Year from The Guardian and The Globe and Mail, he is a U.S. Slam Champion and he performed at the opening ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Come on this poetic journey with a 21st century virtuoso.
