We are delighted to be working with Belfast International Arts Festival to present this exclusive workshop with the incredible writer and Belfast Book Festival Patron Lucy Caldwell. So as the days draw in, come and set your imagination alight!
We’ve all spent too much time, this last unprecedented while, trapped in the prisons of ourselves. In this exclusive workshop, you will play with the weird and the wild and the wonderful, tapping into the power of fairytales, folklore and myth and of modern retellings of the most ancient and haunting stories.
You'll look at how some of the most exciting contemporary writers from this part of the world use magical realist elements, and how you can be inspired by them.
All levels and stages welcome: all you need to bring is yourself (and the child-self who read compulsively under the covers by torchlight, or hid their copy of The Witches in the freezer…).
If you buy a ticket for this workshop, you will also get access to the Belfast Internation Arts Festival event with Lucy Caldwell and Jan Carson. Click here for more information about the event.
Belfast International Arts Festival returns for their 59th edition from 6 October to 7 November with an extensive programme that gives audiences opportunities to both experience live performances again whilst also enjoying a selection of online events at home!
