The Uncanny in Short Fiction with Lucie McKnight Hardy

workshop

This will be a hands-on workshop where you will look at how the short story is the perfect form to explore and exploit the uncanny in order to instil dread and unease in the reader. You will consider some of the techniques writers use to unsettle and perturb and put these methods to effect in practical exercises. Come armed with a pen and paper!
