Writing the Prose Poem

workshop

Join Belfast-based poet and novelist Susannah Dickey for a two-hour masterclass in writing the prose poem.

You will explore a range of prose poems, both historical and contemporary, starting with Rimbaud’s ‘Conte’ and leading up to and beyond Bishop’s ‘The Hanging of the Mouse’.

Taking inspiration from these works, and using various prompts and tasks, you will then create your own prose poems.
