Belfast-born director Kathryn Ferguson won the Best Live Action Short Film Award at the 2026 Irish Film and Television Awards (IFTA) for her film Nostalgie, which was also longlisted for a Bafta earlier in the year. The film, which stars Aidan Gillen as a 1980s pop star visiting Northern Ireland, is based on Belfast author Wendy Erskine’s short story Nostalgie from her second collection of short stories Dance Move (2022) and was adapted by screenwriter Stacey Gregg
