Christabel represents authors and illustrators across the spectrum of writing and illustrating for children and young adults, including sci-fi and fantasy novels for adults (it is not a requirement for your book/pitch to align specifically with these genres).

Christabel McKinley is a literary agent at David Higham Associates literary agency based in London. She has previously worked in translation rights, literary scouting and as an ESL teacher in Seoul. Her list of clients spans the breadth of children’s, including middle grade and young adult fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels and picture books, although she also has a select list of adult fantasy and science-fiction clients. Across all ages and subgenres, she loves a confident, close storytelling voice and an original, arresting concept. Last year she was named one of the Bookseller’s Rising Stars.
