Chris Mullin: Hinterland - a memoir

All serious politicians should possess a hinterland, but not all do. Chris Mullin was one who did.

Join author, journalist and politician as he discusses his autobiography, Hinterland.

By the time Chris entered parliament he had reported from the wars in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.  He is the author of three novels including the classic political thriller, "A Very British Coup", the television version of which won BAFTA and Emmy awards and was shown in more than 30 countries.

He led the successful campaign to free the innocent people convicted of the Birmingham bombings. Also, "Error of Judgement - the truth about the Birmingham Bombings" led to the correction of one of the biggest miscarriages of justice in British legal history; made into a drama documentary by Granada Television in which Chris Mullin was played by John Hurt.

His published works include three widely acclaimed volumes of diaries --  "A Walk-On Part", "A View from the Foothills" and "Decline & Fall".

In parliament he quickly established himself as fearless inquisitor, going on to become a minister in three departments.
