Celebration
Brought together in one place, here are young voices writing creatively across Northern Ireland today. Fighting Words NI invited submissions from writers aged 8-18 on the theme of happiness. This publication captures reflections from the next generation of writers, on actions for positive mental health and wellbeing.
Accompanied by inspired illustrations, these offerings of stories, poems, and more form a special part of Belfast’s literary community in 2024.
Please do come and join us for an afternoon packed full of celebrations and enjoy readings from our young writers.
Fighting Words NI is a creative writing charity for children and young people. Since 2015 they’ve been a force for creativity in Belfast and beyond, providing over 14,000 creative writing opportunities for schools, youth groups and young writers aged 6 to 18. They have delivered hundreds of free Storymaking Workshops, Write Club Meetings and special projects, all supported by our amazing volunteer mentors.
They want to show every young person in Northern Ireland that creative writing is all about joy, imagination and creativity.
