New Picture Books: Colleen Larmour & Ashling Lindsay

Family

We are excited to invite you to a fun session with homegrown picture book talent Colleen Larmour and Ashling Lindsay, who will be chatting with Nicky Lander from The Bright Agency.

They will be launching their new picture books - expect some readings and chats about their careers and creative process.

This will be accompanied by a fun draw-along activity for all, followed by a book signing.

Come along and meet the artists behind the books beloved by little readers.

Colleen Larmour is a children’s book author and illustrator from Lisburn. She studied on the master’s course in Children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art. She has illustrated 10 picture books which includes Brown Bears, Making Friends and the award winning Our Green City - named an Honour book in the Green Earth Book Awards and recipient of a Blueberry Changemaker book award. A Crocodile Should Never Skip Breakfast is Colleen’s new authored picture book, a delicious romp featuring hungry Croc, who can’t catch a break (or snack) on his way to work as the jungle ferry.

Ashling Lindsay is an Irish artist and writer from Belfast. Recent projects include an illustrated biography for the critically acclaimed and internationally bestselling series Little People, BIG DREAMS and her own authored picture books, An Unexpected Thing (2020) and The Other Side of the Valley publishing August 2024. Ashling teaches illustration at Belfast School of Art.

Nicky Lander is the Head of Illustration at The Bright Agency. She joined Bright in 2014 with extensive knowledge of the publishing industry, having worked in both editorial and product development for 10 years. She has a great understanding of the needs of the artist whilst delivering what is required for a publisher's success.
