Rhythm and Rhyme introduces children aged 0-4yrs to nursery rhymes, actions and music interaction. Join us for 30 minutes of fun led by a Libraries NI staff member. These sessions are all about encouraging speech, language and literacy skills.
Early childhood studies have shown that 90% of brain development occurs before a child reaches 5 years old so interaction, rhymes and reading to children from birth is vitally important.
During each 30 minute session, parents and carers interact with their children and this is crucial for the development of a child’s speech, language and literacy skills. The library member of staff will encourage and guide each parent to participate and this can also help parents and carers.
