Story Building Workshop with Paul Howard

Join Paul Howard for a unique workshop allowing children to collaborate on their own story as a group. In the workshop children will learn to draw Plop in a dozen or so easy steps (and the grown-ups in the room might learn a thing or two in the process).

This is the perfect opportunity for kids aged 4-8 to experience the world of Paul's characters and come up with their own ideas about where Plop (The Owl Who was Afraid of the Dark) and friends might be today.

Suitable for children of all levels of literacy.

In association with the Seamus Heaney Centre at Queen’s.

Paul Howard is an award-winning children’s author and illustrator, best known for illustrating Jill Tomlinson’s classic The Owl Who was Afraid of the Dark and The Burpee Bears, a new picture book series from Joe Wicks. He has collaborated with some of the greats of children’s literature such as Allan Ahlberg, Michael Rosen, Anne Fine, Trish Cooke, Martin Waddell and John Boyne, and won numerous awards including a Blue Peter Award for The Bravest Ever Bear and The Primary English Award for The Year in the City. He publishes his own young fiction and picture books, most recently 1,2, BOO! for Bloomsbury.

During his term as the third Children’s Writing Fellow for Northern Ireland, author and illustrator Paul delivered workshops for almost five thousand children in schools in all parts of the country.
