The Belfast Book Festival FunFair

How do you access support, advice and connections in the world of books and writing?

Join us for the first Belfast Book Festival FunFair; a social afternoon with and for folks active and interested in books and writing. Resource organisations, journals and funders will be set up in spaces across The Crescent, ready to meet you: come on in and have a chat.

If you’re not quite sure who/what to ask, check in with one of our friendly Book Festival Associates (our resident Agony Aunts and Uncles) who will be on hand to point you in a direction.

Participating organisations include; Irish Writers Centre, BBC Writersroom, Film Poem (Helen Dewbery and Csilla Toldy),  Literature Ireland, The Society of Authors, Blackstaff Press, Irish Pen, NIPR, CILIP Ireland, Poetry IrelandCommunity Arts Partnership, The Stinging Fly, The Tangerine, The Society of Young Publishers, The Pig’s Back, Abridged and the Honest Ulsterman, Arts Council of Northern Ireland, The Irish Writer’s Union, BBC Radio Ulster, Children’s Books Ireland, Fighting Words NI, Yellow House Publishing Ltd and the Seamus Heaney Centre at Queens.

A few practical notes:

  • Registration to attend the FunFair is not essential. However, if you do register, we will be able to send you in advance an up to date list of confirmed Organisations/Individuals
  • It’s informal - the Festival isn’t in a position to pre-arrange meetings or connect you in advance to specific organisations/individuals
  • If you have childcare responsibilities that mean that attending will be impossible or very challenging, please contact the team at CSM@crescentarts.org to see if we can help accommodate your little ones.
