workshop
Starting with a presentation, poet E A Gleeson will use poetry and anecdotes to described her cultural and farming childhood in the South-West of Victoria Australia and how this led her to Belfast on a quest to discover the Northern Ireland people behind the differences the public narratives presented. Subsequent visits, research and the Australian enthral with her Belfast poetry (the first section of her 2017 book, Small Acts of Purpose) have led her to brave the Belfast audiences with her work.
Following the initial presentation, Anne will guide workshop attendees to identify something from their own lives which can form the basis of a series of poems. Demonstrating poetic attributes and techniques, she will support those attending to develop their ideas into drafts of formed poems.
