workshop
It may seem insulting or downright outrageous in the context of a Book Festival to even consider disassembling books…..but books can become damaged, many aren’t constructed to last into the next century, and recycling isn’t always an option due to the glue on the bindings.
Join us to give your favourite words for a book a loving upcycle by learning to create a delicate wreath made from book pages, ephemera, and wire. The wreath is lovely with all text but fun and colour can be added by using illustrations such as children’s books, comics and nature books.
All materials will be provided but if you have particular pages or ephemera that you would like to include, please do them bring along.
You will also need to bring a pencil, paper scissors and something to cut thin wire.
Although you may not complete the wreath during the workshop, you will be armed with the knowledge and materials to complete it at home.
