When asked about what she looks for in a Short Story, Lucy Caldwell said, 

"People often ask as a judge what are you looking for & the only answer you can ever give is 'I have no idea but I'll know it when I see it.' "

Ahead of the Mairtín Crawford Award submission window closing on the 10th April, the judges of the Awards led online workshops, where they spoke broadly about their own experiences of Awards – as writers and judges; the specificities of the Mairtín Crawford Award and practical approaches to assembling and presenting work for submission.
